This intense violet colour is named after a beautiful flowering plant of the same name.
African violets are small houseplants that grow quite well in normal house temperatures, flowering almost continuously in clusters of white, blue, or purple blossoms over fuzzy leaves. Native to East Africa, these plants stem from the tropical rain forests of Tanzania and Kenya.
